Nordic South Sisters is the travel blog of two girls from Southern Europe: Anna Maria Alexandrou from Cyprus and Rositsa (Rossi) Bliznakova from Bulgaria. Our common passion for traveling and exploring the world brought us both to Finland almost ten years ago.
Our paths crossed in September 2009 when we were both Master’s students at the University of Jyväskylä in Central Finland. From the very beginning we realized that we have an astonishing number of things in common! We are definitely soul sisters and even when we have our differences, they eventually fade before the power of our friendship.
Nowadays, Anna Maria lives in the capital and Rossi in the countryside. Despite being separated by hundreds of kilometers we keep in touch on a daily basis and try to spend as much time together as possible. While we adore the Nordic lifestyle and living in Finland is an adventure in itself, we feel that we aren’t done exploring the world just yet! And so in 2015 we decided to start an annual tradition: to travel together at least once a year.
This travel blog is a diary of our travel experiences told through words and images. It is a quirky blend of stories, opinions and photographs, all seen through the lens of our international background and unusual personalities. Apart from our adventures together we often find ourselves on solo trips both for work and leisure. Who knows where life will lead us next…
Take off with us on our adventures!
